10/27
I finally got out of the house. I meet Andrew, Michael's friend the "baby engineer", and the three of us went to busan to see fireworks. The largest firework display in South Korea. We left at about five and drove to busan. Then drove around a random parking where Korean men shouted at us. Pretty sure it was actually a bus parking spot but they let us park so who knows.
Any who, we then got on the subway to get from the outskirts of the city to the center. There was supposed to be something like 2 million at the fireworks so the subway was to save parking and getting out of town time. Very clear easy to navigate subway. There was an old Korean man sitting across form me and Andrew who caught my eye and smiled a rather crooked, yellow toothed grin at me and patted the seat right next to him. "5 dollar?" He said with an even wider grin. So I scooted a tiny bit closer to Andrew (who is over 6 foot tall and like 25 ish) and learned not to make eye contact with the people who stare at me.
Of course we get to the center of busan to find out that the fireworks have been canceled due to the fact that it had been pouring rain all day. So we went out to dinner! Which was also fun. Had we known we wouldn't have traveled two hours to it but it was good to get out of the house and the bridge that they where supposed to launch fireworks from was a beautiful sight. So dinner then a very uneventful ride home.

More groceries! Woo! And this time it is Costco amount of everything. So we went from having zero baking powder in the house to having a 15 lb bag of baking powder. But it's very nice to have a larger variety of food.and who doesn't love wanting around Costco.
That's about all we did. And moved some more furniture. And slept in. Pretty much sums up Sunday.

Which brings us to today. It is three in the afternoon and I have reorganized the kitchen so all our new mass quantities of food could have a home. Went for a walk down the street. Admired the fish that were in tanks right off the docks down the block. A huge tank of flounder, and eels and I didn't actually look that hard. Just got distracted by the flounder. Man those are weird fish.
Then I worked out. I couldn't find a single set of weights in the house so I used two bottles of Bacardi. Which you know just made me laugh. Worked like a charm for being light weights though.
Now I'm going to slightly shift some more furniture and finish watching Harry Potter. Oh and wash some towels.
And figure out how to tell my internet that I can't read Korean so pleas quit changing all my web sights to it. I have no idea what anything says now!

hey Keeley!
ReplyDeleteSounds like you're having a really great time! Bummer about the fireworks, but dinner out is nice too! I was going to tell you to Google how to keep your internet in English but then I realized that Google is probably in Korean too. :P
things are pretty chill here. Brennan is being Brennan, meaning he's totally immersed in physics. He and I are both taking GRE subject tests in less than two weeks now so he's pretty concerned about that. Me, not so much, but I haven't taken my practice test yet (we got one for free)
I found out Carolyn is going to fly into bozeman for thanksgiving!! I am super super excited, except that means I won't see shelly an tina at your place for Thanksgiving (which was my original plan) but this will be my first thanksgiving with family in 4 years. (well blood related family anyway)
I got a sewing machine which has been super fun for me and super annoying for the guys... FINALLY put it away last week after it sat out on the kitchen table for a week. I was productive though!! I made two purses and a dress. all of which are super cute.
Saturday night was our Halloween party among friends... I went as Applejack, which is a pony from My Little Pony. Brennan went as a photobomb by taping a giant smiley face to his chest in pink duct tape. he thought it was super great - until it was time to rip it off. :P
Anyway I must sign off - work calls! Miss you lots and I am thinking about you every day!
PS - my new favorite word is imprecation. it means curses (like swear words). I told a baby last week that if it spit up on me I would start spouting imprecations.
Hello my dearest sister,
ReplyDeleteI would like to go on the record and say that ripping the tape off was not bad at all, unlike how Camille made it sound. Also, she lied, her favorite word is still dyspeptic. Things are fun here. I'm in the midst of studying for the Physics GRE now. (I have to take two GRE's... it is pretty much the worst thing ever. Besides herpes. But really, what argument can you make against that?
Person 1: "Man, my life sucks."
Person 2: "I have herpes."
Person 1: "... oh... my life's pretty good then.")
Ok, so long tangent. Sorry. I'm trying to keep up in classes, which are insane, as usual. I have a new idea for a Physics tattoo, should I ever decide I want one.
That's all here,
Love ya sis,
Brennan
P.S. The system for publishing replies is terrible. Apparently I'm a robot, because it takes me several tries on the "prove you're not a robot by entering these words" test. Seriously, that post took me 7 tries to post. Maybe I just suck at them. Oh well.
ReplyDeleteYeah for an update from my favorite Bug!!!
ReplyDeleteI am loving reading about your adventures. Do you think that little old man was saying he'd give you $5 to sit next to him? Kinda creepy. Sorry about the lack of fireworks. Dang! A long ride for dinner, but hey - you got out of the house!!
Agreed, flounder are extremely weird fishies. And I wouldn't have looked at the eel either - they are icky. I am not particularly fond of how they taste, either.
Way to improvise with the bottles of Bacardi! You are such a creative little chica. And good on ya for working out. I'll have to remember that if I am ever without hand weights.
Things here are okay. A little bit stressful here lately but that's just how it goes sometimes. Our grass is coming up already. I am ever amazed by how quickly it grows. Hopefully it is still there. Tina and I went to the gym this evening and let him be in the backyard for the 45 minutes we were gone. He had muddy paws when we got home, so we'll see what the sunlight reveals. He's been at doggy day care a bunch 'cause we didn't want him tearing it all up, and was terribly bored this weekend when we made him stay inside. So we took pity on him and let him be outside this evening. I hope we don't regret it!
It's finally cooling off, highs in the 80s, lows in the 50s. Halleluiah!!! We may or may not go for a short backpacking trip to Aravaipa Canyon this weekend. Tina is supposed to go to Boston on Wednesday for a business trip, home on Friday, but given Hurricane Sand, the jury is still out on whether or not she will actually go. If not, then she is planning on joining Royce, Laura, Jon and his friend Alex for the trip. I am considering going but I'm not 100% sure yet. It's only a 4 mile hike in, we'd spend Friday and Saturday nights at wherever we make camp, then hike back out on Sunday. We'd do a short day hike on Saturday, too. But this weekend is also my last one at home until after Thanksgiving, and thus my indecision.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE you sweetheart. Keep on blogging!!
P.S. I vote for "imprecation" over dyspeptic. The GRE is not nearly as bad as herpes. And I agree that the publishing system sucks, but perhaps your brother is a robot. It would explain some things.
P.P.S. If you rang my doorbell on Halloween I would answer it. And give you candy. Which is saying a lot since I haven't done that since 2008.
P.P.P.S. Seriously?! A 15 lb bag of baking powder?? Who knew. Guess you'll be baking lots of bread and goodies. That will probably last Michael for the rest of his life.
Agree. The 15 lb bag of baking powder makes me laugh every time I think about it. I wonder how long it maintains its properties??
ReplyDeleteMichael is so lucky to have you there :), by the way.
Precious says "Hi/Meow"
Love you bunches,
Cara
I'm having a heck of a time with this blog too Brennan. Guess I'm a rusty robot!!!
ReplyDeleteJust a thought - imbibe the Bacardi. Use baking soda for weight training!
How's that for a wild idea. How's our salamander doing?
Lol
